Vintage Brut - Heritage 1969
A long winter and a very unstable climate characterize 1969. Spring is marked by unusual low temperatures which slow down flowering. Heavy summer hailstorms destroy a large part of the harvest. The harvest gets a late start (1st of October) but despite these difficult conditions, the grapes are of a very good sanitary state.
This wine has a firm acidity level that needs time to evolve into roundness over the years and bring elegance to this Vintage, a product of a Great Champagne Year.
Deep gold colour, and a good long lasting mousse with very small bubbles. the initial nose reveals aromas of plums and eau-de-vie fruits, then developing into chocolate notes. the mouth has moka and chocolate notes with a hint of dried fruits such as
hazelnut and walnut. Good length, rich and fresh.
